Great Mexican food served California Style in a very casual beach atmosphere. Fresh, homemade, and authentic is what Pelons is all about. Famous for fish tacos, also steak, chicken, shrimp, pork, and vegetarian. Huge burritos, nachos, quesadillas, soups like pasole, and tortilla soup. Were knowen for the best salsa and guacamole served anywhere.We also have a large Vegetarian and Vegan selection.
As any Southern California transplant will tell you, missing good Mexican food is high on the list of 'cons' about moving here. Guacamole should not be drippy and smooth, white sauce doesn't go with tortilla chips, and chalupas aren't real, Taco Bell invented them. Anyway, Pelon's is the exception to the local rule. It's like walking into a San Diego taco shop, great Guac, excellent fish tacos, and if you're really hungry, The Dude burrito won't do you wrong. (Edited July 02, 2009)
