A former machine shop in Harbor East hosts Tony Foreman and Cindy Wolf's visually "stunning"...
Tapas, full dinners and tasting menus for six or ten diners dominate the offerings at this dining-and-dancing hot-spot, masterminded by Tony Foreman and Cindy Wolf of Charleston fame. As with the duo’s other restaurants, the space is dramatic as all get-out; architect Patrick Sutton has transformed a former boiler factory into a multi-level tapas bar (think Tuscany meets SoHo). The dishes,...
In a city noted for its ethnic restaurants, this Fells Point place is the sweet spot for tapas. With the help of architect Patrick Sutton, restaurateurs Cindy Wolf and husband Tony Foreman of Charleston fame have remade a large Civil War–era machine shop into a 350-seat Iberian lounge. They've kept the original post-and-beam construction and evoked a hip, baroque style with exposed-brick walls,...

We loved Pazo and were hopeful that Bar Vasquez would continue the tradition of great food and atmosphere, for the most part it didn't disappoint. The starters and empanadas were first class, the calamari was outstanding, and the Malbec we chose to go with it all was one of the best I've had. Our stumble came at the entree. There were 4 of us sharing plates and ordered the lamb, nothing was...
One dinner was not what was ordered. Dinner came with a tomato reduction, not a béarnaise sauce as ordered. When this was pointed out, the waiter simply brought a bowl of béarnaise to our table. We decided not to argue the point. Also, the services was slow (except for water refills) and, after I finished my dinner, my dirty plate sat in front of me for 10 minutes.
spectacular space that looks very vibrant, stylish and different from Pazo. great service, knowledgeable, and unobtrusive. party of four, mostly tapas, nothing extravagant bill came close to $ 300. steak was great, tripe soup had raw potatoes in it, empanadas boring with great sauce, sweetbreads were grilled and wonderful. chocolate banana tart was not very fresh, and not very imaginative.
Unique eatery and luve music, finally a llocation worth visiting in Baltimore
We're huge fans of Cindy Wolf and really enjoyed Pazo, but our experience at Bar Vasquez was disappointing - partially because it was far more expensive that we expected - but also because the food quality was lacking. On a positive note, the sommelier, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable, helpful and had a great personality. The Pollo a la Plancha was tender and tasty. And the goat milk...
