Palette 22 offers executive chef Graham Duncan’s modern interpretation of street and other popular global foods. The menu is divided into Bites, Street Eats, Brick Oven, Each and Sweets (churros with Mexican chocolate sauce and apple empanadas).
Set in an art deco Shirlington building, this industrial-feel bistro-cum-gallery serves globally inspired New American small plates in a funky atmosphere styled to resemble a painter's studio, complete with artists-in-residence and vibrant art hung on the walls and available for purchase.

Way too loud in this restaurant with all the hard surfaces (concrete floors, exposed ductwork, wood panels, drywall); there are no fabrics to absorb any of the noise. And the music was pretty loud on top of everything! Major dissatisfier for a restaurant. Everything else was great: food was delicious, service was very attentive, and the artists painting in the restaurant was a surprising feature.
Good variety of tapas available, including vegetarian. All of the dishes that we tried were well prepared and our server was very nice. The bloody mary bar was fun with a lot of options for added flavor and garnishes.
Really affordable happy hour and tasty. I wish they had more options, but I ended up spending just $20 and ate my fill. Lots of drink options!

The dessert menu is disappointing though with only a few offerings that are average in taste. Skip the sangria, coffee, and cappuccino as they are disappointing. Get there early and request a window or outdoor table for some...
