Family owned since 1946, this restaurant, housed in a replica of an early-19th-century Outer Banks lifesaving station, is more like a museum: classic clapboard construction, pine paneling, and filled with maritime artifacts. Stick with fresh-off-the-boat local seafood or prime beef. Miss O's traditional crab cakes are popular, as is filet mignon topped with lump crabmeat and asparagus with...

We had a wonderful dinner with very good service and unbelievable deserts. The restaurant is a little dark and it gives it a very nice atmosphere.
A very good restaurant for your traditional seafood dinner. The seafood is very fresh and well prepared. A good place to take your parents or grandparents. The service is also very good.
Got off to a rocky start with the waitress not being attentive and an apathetic attitude towards us while we were visiting for a birthday dinner. But the true test of excellence is how a company responds. They were very inquisitive and persistent about making things right. Glad we stayed since the new waiter was top notch and the food...
This is a dress up place. we arrived late at Nags Head, off season and didn't dress up. We were accommodated well, seated in the back area. Our server was helpful and attentive. We were happy to have dinner although for our tastes and experience the vintageness of this is outside our cultural reference.
Old school, nothing out of place....
You get what you pay for. There are less expensive restaurants, but you won't get food or service this good.
I had Flounder stuffed with Crab and my wife had pasta and vegetables( she is a vegetarian). Both were excellent.

Owens' Restaurant began as a 24 seat cafe in 1946. It was founded by Bob & Clara Owens who moved from a small hot dog stand in Manteo which they had operated from 1933 until 1946. At the time, the local sages shook their heads and allowed as how they had "lost their minds, movin' over on that bald beach like that, when everybody knows that the business is in Manteo
