I have been with Optima for almost a year. Retired and living on a single income I found the rates are high with a $4500 deductible, but come 2016 the rates went up 25% and the deductible increased to $5500. The increase is about a third of my income. I am thankful I am I fairly good health. In addition you have the cost of prescriptions. People on a single income struggle to make ends meet....

Denying TBI, a stroke victim, cerebral palsy, plegic toddlers any rehabilitative benefits which is in the policy that I pay monthly for. Because they categorize a paralyzed child as developmentally delayed.

Optima USED to be great. During open enrollment (October 2015) for the new year, I called on several occasions to confirm the changes in copays. On multiple occasions, by multiple agents I was told one thing, but then after I used the coverage, I found out the hard way they were incorrect. Surprise! They will rebuild a woman's breast with implants but a man that has ED from prostate surgery at 46 they deny it. Women's breast reconstruction is cosmetic. Not saying that they don't need it after the surgery but it's been ten years and I can not describe what it feels like to make out with someone you love ,try a pump, a pill or a shot and fail!
