Help us make it rightEvery time my children go for cleaning they are charge an oral hygience instruction charge. The insurance company does not cover "brush your teeth and floss" instruction charge charges so they are passed down to the patient. Phone calls are never answered. The receptionist must be in the back helping the doctor cause you can't get anyone to answer the phone.
My son saw this doctor in the summer. He said we needed general anesthesia for a cavity repair. On October 29, we finally found out that the anesthesiologist won't see my son. A FULL WEEK later, Dr. O's office finally returned my calls. He can't do the procedure on my child because he doesn't have privileges. If someone had told me MONTHS ago I could have had my child's sore teeth fixed. This is insane.
My children's initial visits over 15 months with this dentist were uneventful, the office is new and very nice. There is a problem with the phone being answered but not a deal breaker. When a problem arose with the treatment of one of my kids, which I informed the dentist of within 20 minutes of her leaving the chair. After speaking with her in the car outside when she was done crying I walked back in the building and was told "she" was being over reactive and he was dismissive of her pain. No parent likes to see the child in pain so a day later when the pain had not gone away we had a second opinion on her tooth by another dentist, who had to redo the work on that same tooth to relieve her discomfort (not covered since it had been billed under that "tooth number" just days earlier, insurance rules). The second dentist recommended returning to give Dr Oduyelu to allow him a chance to remedy the problem, that it what he would want his patients to do. We returned that very day with the Xrays from the second dentist. Dr. Oduyelu listened to our issue reluctantly but assured us he would refund the amount of the visit since the insurance would only cover one dentist's work on the individual tooth.
It would be a good review if he had followed through with his promise. I understand that problems can happen but the mark of a good doctor is that you can trust them. When Dr. Oduyelu didn't keep his promise, it has now been six months, for work that needed redone by another dentist he made me question his work on all my children, how honest was he with their needed dental work, were their earlier complaints of pain ignored, how much of the billing was accurate. We will now turn this over to the insurance company.
My wife made any appointment and then a couple of days later needed to reschedule. We both tried to call and could never get ahold of anyone. It was frustrating because we got a phone message and I text message trying to confirm our appointment. The problem with this business practice is I am unavailable to receive calls during the day. I need a Dental office that is going to have someone answer the phone every now and then. When I finally did get a hold of someone to cancel the appointment the lady answering the phone was not apologetic at the least. The Dentist might be the best in the World but you will never get a hold of this office. Good luck.
This dentist is not an orthodontist. Don't let him ruin your child's teeth with his version of braces. I learned the hard way and now have two buck teeth daughters whose overbite was caused by this man. Verified by a real orthodontist!
