"What's not to like" about this "intimate" Italian in Foggy Bottom, with a "small" but "pricey" menu that's "well chosen", "well prepared" and well served by a "hospitable" staff in the "quiet", film-poster-bedecked room; the pre-theater prix fixe makes it a "wonderful" go-to "before a Kennedy Center performance."
As the restaurant’s logo notes, the name comes from the Roman tendency to stay up all night, probably to party, surely to eat. The chef, Robert DeCoste, has traveled extensively in Tuscany and he has developed a keen passion for robustly flavored yet simply prepared Italian meals. Look for his special pastas, such as the pappardelle with bolognese sauce, or the meatier grilled beef sirloin....
The menu is not expansive, but the offerings all are well-prepared, interesting and varied. The veal tagliatelle was exquisite at a recent visit to Notti Bianche, and the bruschetta was the perfect starter. Wait staff is attentive, and does not rush patrons. I love eating here, because of the simplicity and creativity of the entrees.
We truly enjoyed it. The tables for two are, however, a bit too close together and the wines are a bit pricey.
This has been our 4th time here, we stayed at the hotel attached and ate here before a show at the Kennedy Center. Have always had great service, good food, and timely for the show. This visit was even better than the past. I ordered a caesar salad and seafood linguini with a few diff. red wines, was very tasty! Staff was polite and friendly, and I overheard them very nicely accomodating a...
We have been here several times and always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. This night the dining room was very understaffed, and although the waiter tried to keep up with many busy tables, the service was just not up to par. We did enjoy the food and the kitchen seemed to be able to keep up, just one waiter for about 15 tables is too much. Actually felt sorry for the guy.
A lovely, little, intimate restaurant! It is close to GWU Medical Center, the Kennedy Center, and Foggy Bottom Metro, housed in the University Inn, and across the street from the Residence Inn. In an area of DC where most restaurants are thumping, driving, loud meet and mix palaces, or stuffy, pretentious expense account joints, a restaurant like this is a gem. Seating no more than 30-40...
There's a time each year when Rome shimmers with a celebration known as "White Nights." It's an all-night festival of culture and the arts, but most importantly to us, it's a celebration of food and drink! Notti Bianche and Executive Chef Ashley Harris embrace this spirit each day serving seasonal, reasonably priced Italian trattoria fare throughout the day!
Rome's essence beckons nightly from Notti Bianche, an enchanting DC Italian restaurant set in historic Foggy Bottom district of downtown DC. Swoon over authentic Italian dishes that critics have called “the culinary equivalent of the little black dress.” Awarded three stars from the Washington Post, named Third Best neighborhood restaurant by OpenTable, and consistently high acclaim from it’s...
Notti Bianche is an upscale Italian restaurant that offers an intimate atmosphere since it has just 42 seats. Open for breakfast daily and lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday, Notti Bianche is located in The George Washington University Hotel.
Notti Bianche is located at George Washington Inn and is consistently rated as one of the best restaurants in DC. It only seats 42 people, so the dining room is small and intimate. They also have a full bar and outdoor dining. For lunch, you can pair soup or salad with pasta for only fifteen dollars. For dinner, try sumptuous entrees like grilled squid or chicken cannelloni.
Located at the George Washington University Inn Notti Bianche has received good reviews from a number of food critics in and around the Capitol; some have even called it the best in the Capitol area. The joint is small and offers delicious and mouthwatering Italian cuisine, which is why it tends to get crowded. If you're in a hurry grab a quick lunch on the run. The portions served here are...
