Dr. Virginia "Ginger" Kirkland has provided periodontal care to Alpharetta residents since 1998. She earned her undergraduate degree at the Medical College of Georgia in 1987 in the field of Dental Hygiene. She practiced dental hygiene within the field of periodontics for four years prior to beginning her dental education. She received her dental degree from the University of Louisville, Kentucky in 1995. A postgraduate residency completed at the University of Louisville in 1998 allowed her to develop greater expertise in periodontal treatment. Dr. Kirkland received her Master of Science Degree in Oral Biology in 1998 from the University of Louisville, completed in the field of bone regeneration.
Dr. Kirkland is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. She is also a member of many professional organizations including the American Academy of Periodontology, Southern Academy of Periodontology, Georgia Society of Periodontists, American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Northern District Dental Society and the Hinman Dental Society. She is currently serving on the Executive Committee of the Georgia Society of Periodontists. She is also a chosen member of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. Dr. Kirkland has been published in professional dental journals for research conducted in the fields of implant dentistry and guided bone regeneration.
Dr. Kirkland resides in Alpharetta with her husband Dr. Brett Gluck (Alpharetta orthodontist) and their two children, Carter and Kyle.
