Liars and thieves.

In August of 2012, I reserved a car with my credit card, but told them I would pay in cash. I paid in full, in cash, only to find out later that the company had already charged $276.50 to my credit card. When I called to inform them about the double charge, three different employees at the company gave me the run-around for over a month - each time assuring me that I would get my credit back on my credit card account, but never once doing anything that they promised me. They never returned a phone call, never sent an email that they promised they would send, never credited my account, and never sent a check (which they promised after never getting around to issuing the credit to my credit card account).

In October, I disputed the charges with my credit card company. The representative from my Visa card actually called and spoke with all three of the employees that I had spoken to, and told me that she was amazed at how evasive and dishonest they were. My credit card company debited the money from the account of New Limo Express, and issued my a credit for the full amount. The time period in which the car service could contest my dispute has elapsed, so now they can't steal any more money from me.

Imagine how short-sighted, stupid, and evil you have to be to run a business the way they do. I travel to the NYC area at least twice a year. I use a car service at least once, during each of those visits. My brother does the same, at different times during the year. My mother lives in NYC and uses a car service more than ten times a year. If New Limo Express had treated me well, they would definitely have gotten repeat business from me, and I would have recommended them to the rest of my family. But instead, they have lost our potential business, and they get this review.

If you value your time and money, stay clear of this company, and warn others in the NYC/NJ area to boycott New Limo Express.

In case you want to the details, you can read what follows. which is a log of all the phone calls I made to the company in pursuit of the money they owed me. Remember as you read this, that not once did they ever do one thing they said they would do.

9-2-12
Mona said she would look into the double charge.
We paid driver $261.00 cash (the price for a cash payment), and were charged $276.50 on our credit card (the price for a credit card payment). Mona said she would call me back.

9-4-12
Mona didn't call me, so I called her. Mona said they will credit my credit card.

9-11-12
Mona said she would ask the accountant about the credit and call me tomorrow.

9-14-12
I called Mona. She said that I should see the credit within six business days. I asked her to send me an email to that effect and she agreed. I gave her my email address.

9-17-12
I called Mona. She took my email address again and said that she would send me an email saying that her company would be crediting my account for the double charge.

9-24-12
I called Mona. She put me on the phone with Alex. He said he credited my credit card last Friday, for $276.50, but when I had him read me the number of the card, he had the last four numbers wrong. He said he would check his merchant account and call me back today. I asked him to send me an email, telling me that he would be crediting my account, and he said he would. I gave him my email address.

Tried twice to call and got no answer, with no voice mail.

Tried all the numbers. No answer. Suspect that they are using caller I.D. to evade my calls.

Reached Mona by using Skype phone dialing. I told her I would be coming to NY and would need a ride from Newark Airport to the beach, and would she be willing to apply my credit toward that ride. She said, “yes.”

I asked for her email address, and told her I would send my itinerary, and asked if she would quote me a price by email, including my credit. She said, “yes,” and gave me her email address.

I send her an email asking for a quote and an acknowledgment of my credit, and she never answered the email.

John answered the phone and said that Mona was in Kuwait, but that he was aware of my double charge, and that they had tried to refund the money but they entered the wrong credit card number. I asked if he would send me a reply to an email that I would send him, asking him to acknowledge that I was double charged and that they intended to send me a refund. He said he would. I send him an email and never received a reply.

Mona answered the phone (I guess her trip to Kuwait was short). She gave me Alex’s phone number and said she would call him. She said she could not send me an email verifying that I had a refund coming, that Alex had to do it because he was the accountant. She gave me his phone number I called Alex and he lied and said he had mailed me a check.

I made a reservation for pickup from Manhattan to EWR for 5pm on Sunday, December 20.

We got a van instead of a limo, because the dispatcher said that they were not sending any limos that day.
