Mona's does not look like much, but it serves a really good "lunch box" as well as a full assortment of Korean dishes, which run towards stews and BBQ-type items, plenty of vegetarian things as well. Clientele indicates it is a favorite of the local Korean community as well.

The Kim Bap is very good. Last time I dined in at the restuarant, I was given some sweet ginger tea to finish the meal. It was delicious!

A step outside the norm

This place is really inviting. The food is great. The staff was fast and made sure we were enjoying our meal. They even seated us even though it was 15 minutes till they closed. They didnt rush us either. They were really nice.

This is a great surprise in the Newport News area. The food is great and I definitely recommend it if you're in the mood for Korean food. Although on the other side of the water (via the HRBT) if you???
