I had mold forming in my kitchen. As soon as I noticed it I called Milro Services (recommended by a family member). They had guys on the spot within an hour who were very nice and communicated exactly what they were going to do. After they were done they took preventative measures to ensure that it didn't happen again. The cost? Much lower than I thought. I will use again.
We needed them to repair our floor, that was damaged by another subcontractor who cleaned up a "puff back" in our house. Sounds simple, right ?
What MILRO does is subcontract out ALL of their actual work, hiring people of various kinds and quality. Not new in this Game, but it was new to us, because we were not experienced in the technical definitions of what we wanted and what we got...and MILRO was not forthcoming about them either. What happened was, we booked one thing to happen, and we got something TOTALLY different by the actual work crew, and NOT what we wanted. The actual "managers" or "part owners" of the business...if that's the word, or "supervisor" above this level, are the ones who have the experience and who are, apparently "partners" in the business.
After confirming what we wanted with two "supervisors" of the company and expecting the job to be 5 days, they sent out a "work crew" that had an extreme difficulty comprehending and speaking the English language, and communicating with us.
Well, what happened was a classic Contractor/Customer "communication problem", with the crew "head" at the work site, NOT explaining, clearly to us, the actual technical definition of what we choose with him to do to our floor at the work site.
What happened was we thought we were getting a stain on our floor, and confirmed it with the "owners" PRIOR TO AND BEFORE THE WORK BEGAN, but at the work site, in several convoluted conversations with the "crew" head, and between his frequent cell phone calls, what we got was NO STAIN.
A MILRO "supervisor" who was contacted by his crew chief BEFORE WORK began was notified of our accidental "choice" but did NOTHING to confirm the difference with us, WHEN HE KNEW it wasn't what we wanted.
Instead of calling us personally to question the difference in what was booked and what was chosed by us, the MILRO "supervisor" ASSUMED WE KNEW WHAT WE WERE CHOOSING INSTEAD OF taking the time of ONE phone call, to make sure it was what we wanted.
ALL OF THIS WAS COMPOUNDED BY THE FACT, that not ONLY did MILRO NOT do what we wanted to the floor, but they damaged it MORE, doing a sloppy job ! A unique accomplishment, dont you think ?
During the course of talking to the regional district head of our Insurance Company about this, it was revealed BY THE REGIONAL DISTRICT HEAD OF THE INSURANCE COMPANY that MILRO did work for his mother !
I guess that information was supposed to "help" MILRO look good, but it only confirmed to me there was some BIG TIME corruption going on at the Insurance Company.
NOTE: Our Insurance Adjustor and her Supervisor, as well as the Regional District Head of the Insurance Company called our main MILRO contact by a short familiar, term of endearment nick-name, and contended there were "NO complaints" about MILRO to them, and we were the First !
When MILRO set up a second try to fix it they were 2 hours late and they had the audacity to send the original "crew" and "crew head" who couldnt speak or understand English !
They were asked by me to call it a day!
It didnt take a genious to know that MILRO purposefully didnot want to do a job for "free" so they set it up, for me to say to the insurance company that we wanted another vendor to work on the floor.
