This is the worst character I have ever encountered, extremely rude, arrogoant, narcissistic, corner cutting, unethical, profanity is part of his daily vocabulary, just a complete imbecile and should be put out of business, just goggle this person.
@Kathy: The MGM brand is one of friendliness and fairness in order to please our important (and growing) customer base and employees.
Over a year has passed since this review and we're pleased to say we've continued to serve our clients well and keep our employees happy. Now, although we aim to please all whom we come in contact with; sometimes, as human beings, we fall short.
To the Reader: There was a sensitive financial matter in which Kathy was the offending party against MGM. This resulted in: an arrest; a repayment to MGM from the offender; and her termination of employment. We do not want to engage in negative pursuits but as always, there are two (or more) sides to a story.
We wish you well in your current endeavors, Kathy.
@Stacie Davis: There is no animosity felt between the owner of MGM toward former or current employees. With numerous, satisfied full time employees and a streamlined payroll system in place (including finance personnel on staff) we are better equipped than ever to meet today's business demands.

@Stacy Katzenstein: At MGM we take your privacy, billing, and business very seriously. You're a valued customer and, perhaps, we may have all walked away happy had we sat and spoke candidly to gain a complete understanding of this matter.
As this review is now several years old, the matter is no less important but certainly more difficult to quickly recall and flesh out the details. Per your admission, Stacy, "borrowed," is the term you've used to describe our equipment being locked and stored away in your garage without consent. At the core of this matter you will note: money was returned as promised. The rescheduling was more than likely due to being an overwhelmed sole proprietor juggling several businesses. A valid excuse? Perhaps not. But nonetheless a business is led by a human; one whom is focused on self-improvement (shouldn't we all be?).
With your input, and input from all our other valued customers, we will improve along the way to becoming the 5-star service provider we strive to be in the near term.
@ADLWilliamsburg: Project estimates will serve as ballpark figures. Many projects we start for a customer open the door to opportunities for expanded, beautiful design plans that the customer will desire to have completed. That explains why small projects may often double or triple in size (with consent). Written estimates are carefully delivered and we continue to serve more satisfied clients.

@Hogman1: While your comments are insulting, people are entitled to their opinion and feelings. At MGM, we strive for complete satisfaction and happiness from our valued clients and employees. Will we be flawless? Unfortunately not. But, timely payments and fair treatment are part of the MGM culture and, as a result, we continue to flourish year after year.
@HonestJane4u: This is an anonymous and rather vague review and it is unclear what truly transpired here. Fair treatment, courteous service, and conscientious work are what have kept MGM running for decades. If you were (or even feel you were) wronged, I apologize.
As MGM strives to earn the faith and trust of the Hampton Roads market, we humbly ask for the honor of your (the reader of this review) consideration when it comes time for your grounds maintenance needs.
Every bad thing you've ever heard about him is true! The reviews are TYPICAL. I worked in his office for two years and there's not enough space to list his offenses. He will cheat his customers and employees at every opportunity. The review about the drainage repair is classic. No invoice is the same as a blank check to him, and he will find as many up-charges as he can get away with until the customer pulls the plug on the income stream. BBB pulled his accredidation years ago because of complaints. He has the good fortune to have made a name for himself within the illegal Mexican community and therefore has access to good, cheap, tax-free labor. That, and his ability to lie, cheat & steal from customers and tenants (see Daily Press story about the Barber Shop-he charged the tenant for repairs to the ancient plumbing, jacked up the price 3-fold and the story shows the result). I personally had to report him to the IRS before he would give me a W-2. He claimed all his employees were independant contractors, and issued us all 1099's so he could keep the withholding taxes he didn't pay. He will play the 'victim' well enough to win an Oscar while laughing all the way to the bank!
DONT WORK FOR HIM, he is a crook .. He likes to play the ole' song and dance and promise you this and that (i.e. 100% insurance, great pay,company vehicles etc) He thinks he is soo smart and can get over on anyone, but when someone smart questions him he likes to get physical and hit. He doesn't pay his workers and threatens them with their job if they questions their pay .. DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN, he is nothing but a CROOK and LIAR!

I had a positive experience with MGM from start to finish! They removed some old concrete sidewalk, moved a lamp pole, installed pavers and did some minor landscaping. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS GUY!!!!! He never provided the written estimate that I requested. He left with half the work done, asked for a payment for that day and then tried to charge me three times the initial amount to finish. His long time employee claims he didn't know that deer liked Pansies!!!!!!
