Hey, my name is Ken. This is my 3rd month working for MTI. These people DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!
My 2nd shift I was riding 3rd on a truck and we had an ER run coming from a nursing home. We get the patient in the ambulance and my training officer puts the Oxygenator on they're finger and tells me its 98%
WHAT?? How is it 98% if room air is 20% oxygen and 80% Hydrogen? Obviously the thing was broken but he insisted she didnt need a BVM.
This really annoys me because I dont want people to get killed. I learned in school never to withhold oxygen from patients.
Yesterday I had a patient who was having trouble breathing so I put her on 9.5 liters per second on nosal cannula (she was mouth breathing so I put it in her mouth) AND SHE WAS STILL ONLY 92% OXYGENATOR. I bumped her up to 10 LPS N.C. Luckily we had 2 oxygenator trees on the ambulance. I hooked up the BVM to the 2nd one and assisted ventilations so she could get more oxygenation. And my old as dirt 30 something year old driver was telling me not to do that the whole time. UM? Im trying to save her life hello?
They need to do a complete rehaul or retesting of all these long time employees. We cant have these people on the road killing patients.
I will give 2 stars because sometimes the earlier shifts will leave some food/ french fries on the truck for us to eat.
They also keep stretchers pretty clean. crews are required to wipe down stretchers every wednesday if there is any obvious feces/ urine residue.
