If you have kids, please stay away from this place. Their kids's meal is $8.00 and it's for a 1 hot dog in a bun and fries. It was nothing more than the hot dog sold on the stand at the hot dog stand. They don't even have milk or juice, all they have is soda and root beer. It's understandable that life is a little more expensive at the OBX but what kind of hot dog cost $8.00? I mean that's just...

Very good place down in Avon, NC. Mack Daddy's was a nice find for us after eating at some so-so places. The menu is good, the atmosphere decent, and very nice staff. The dishes we ordered (flounder, shrimp, salad, etc) were all very good and seemed to be freshly prepared. Our waitress was particularly helpful and hard working. We would not hesitate to eat there the next time we visit OBX.

17pm.they open at 5 pm. and no one was thier at that time so we were seated quickly. our severer was quick, friendly and she was on point! now to the best part the food!! My girl got the sacllops they were cooked so perfect its hard to explain. the sides that came with her dish were just as good also the buttermilk mashed taters and greenbeans. i got the shrimp and grits and let me tell you...

Great meal !! Had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. Hostess was very polite and courteous. Sat at the bar , kids had fruit punch, adults had a great microbrew that was similar to Guinness. Started off with a small plate, oysters rockefeller, outstanding!. Bread came out fresh and warm. Get the shrimp & grits. It's outstanding, as is evrything else! Nice beer selection, too, which is unusual for Hatteras Island.
