Located between the Arts District and West End, Little Tap House resides kitty-corner to the Portland Museum of Art and sits just steps away from such venues like the State Theater, Civic Center, and One Longfellow Square.
A few weeks back, there was an Open Thread where readers were asked to weigh in on the best Happy Hours in Maine. Responses came in in the comments, via email and on Facebook, telling us about the best deals around. Whether it's cheap beer, half-priced wine, bargain cocktails or free food, the following map provides a guide to the places readers most love to retreat to after a long day at the...
More often than not, tipsters, readers, friends and family of Eater have one question: Where should I eat right freaking now? Restaurant obsessives want to know what's new, what's hot. And while the Eater 18 is a crucial resource covering old standbys and neighborhood essentials across the state, it is not a chronicle of the 'it' places of the moment. Thus, we offer the Eater Heatmap, which...
Portland Monthly writes about JP's Bistro, which "lights up a warm summer night with the intimate neighborhood Italian specialties that are mostly northern-Italian, but with a nod to chef John Paul Gagnon's own French heritage." The small restaurant, in Portland's Rosemont neighborhood, has a following of "diehard regulars" for good reason: "Another starter is a real showstopper. Four...
In less than two months, the neighborhood bar on the edge of Portland's West End has established itself as both a local comfort zone and a destination for those seeking an alternative to the Old Port hordes or Arts District hipsters. Since its debut, more buzzed-about burgers have come on the scene, so it's time for an update. New to the Heatmap: the Fiery Calamari Burger from DiMillo's...
A couple staying in the hotel I work at mentioned they own this establishment. As someone who lived in Portland for years prior to moving, I was ashamed to admit I had not tried the food here. The next time I was in town for...
The little tap House looks like a Bar from the outside and when you first walk in. And it is a very good bar with an excellent choice of local beers on tap which constantly rotate. However, it is also an excellent restaurant with some...
Headed to Boston and stopped in Portland for lunch. I ALWAYS choose to stop at the Little Tap House, because they are eclectic, unique and normally awesome. But not today. I ordered the BLT (with bacon, goat cheese, lettuce & tomato), my go to sandwich....
My wife and I ate here last Thursday and loved the place. I thought the Fish and Chips were as good as I have ever had, maybe even better. My wife loved her entree too. There was a great selection of beers and the desserts...
I found this restaurant before I even got there. 2 minute walk from the hotel. Didn't have to drive to get to it. Happy Hour prices are specific to that day, but a general $1 off anything else. Fish and chips were very good.
