I remember being stationed in Norfolk at NOB in the mid 90s and this was the firstmall I went to. It was a happening place with good crowds especially on the weekends. Me and my friends call it "the ghetto mall" for a reason. Nothing was open and there were tons of kids running around. The food court was deserted and apart from the movie theater, there is no reason for me to set foot in this mall. I would recommend that everybody in that area takes their business to MacArthur Center or Pembroke.
Sad and depressing.Absolutely no reason to visit this mall. It should be torn down. At least 50% of the stores are vacant. The stores that remain can easily be found elsewhere. This mall was once but isn't any more.
I remember back 8 years ago when I was stationed in Norfolk that this mall was pretty legit. However it was at the very start of its down turn.
