Housed in a pre–Civil War brick general store, this white-tablecloth restaurant actually has three dining rooms decorated like a French garden, with numerous paintings by local artists for sale. For more than two decades, this has been a Fredericksburg favorite for its consistently good food and service. The interesting menu changes with the seasons, and the chef sources his products locally....
Christian Etienne Reanult's delightful restaurant was designed to look like a garden, an effect enhanced by white latticework and garden furnishings. Unpainted brick walls are hung with copper pots and cheerful oil paintings, and candlelit tables are adorned with fresh flowers. A cozy lounge adjoins. Christian and his classically trained son, Raymond, change their menu daily. They might offer...
Food is always prepared with care and served with enthusiasm. Good for business or pleasure and cannot go wrong. Love the outdoor seating when the weather is warm. Have been many times usually for dinner but have had lunch as well.
Relax and enjoy.
If you go to La Petite Auberge, order the crab cakes but skip the fried oysters. Alas, I ordered the oysters which were small and tasteless, dripping in butter with a soggy coating. My friend ordered the crab cake platter and enjoyed them very much. He also liked the lemon ricotta cheese cake! The service was very friendly and attentive.
We met 4 other friends for lunch here. It is a busy place for lunch thank goodness we had reservation for the large middle room table. We all had different entrees and all were quite delicious and served in style and presentation. Portions were very good. The salads are a meal. This is a classy foodie place! Well Done!
La Petite Auberge has always been a great place to go. The chef has always provided his customers with the greatest of meals. You will not leave not satisfied.
...Had lunch at La Petite Auberge twice in the past month. Each time, the food was well-prepared and delicious. Service was good, and the reasonably-priced glass of wine was quite tasty. We'll definitely go back!
