Do not use them! Worst experience ever!

We were told home was ready, but we didn't find out until we arrived at the home that it was never cleaned prior to our arrival. As written on the paper form upon checkout home was very dirty. Vacuumed a gallon ziploc bag full of doghair out of the living area alone. Cabinets and dishes dirty and dusty, crumbs on counters, oven had spills down the side that should have been cleaned, ceiling fan and wooden furniture had a half inch of dust on it, window sills very dirty. Since the office was closed upon arrival and we were unable to reach anyone from your company, we had to purchase our own cleaning supplies and vacuum and clean the cottage before being able to relax. Also one of the deck stairs was hazardous leading from the Master BR down to the hot tub. Screen door on Master BR dented. Outdoor shower was rusted and leaking, needs attention. Lamp in upstairs Master BR hazardous - lightbulb just hanging out of the socket. Multiple lighbulbs around the house burned out, an inconvenience when you are entering an unfamiliar house in the dark. Screened porch was unusable due to cleanliness, spider webs, dust and table covered in bird poop. Due to our situation, I was not pleased that the owner will still be collecting rental money from this property since it was left in such a bad condition upon our arrival. Very dissappointed that instead of relaxing we had to clean and replace lightbulbs. Contacted office and left a message the night of arrival. The next day Deborah called to apologize that the owner had not gotten a spring clean and send out a cleaning crew. Since we had already purchased cleaning supplies and cleaned the home ourselves there was no need for that. She did bring us over a nice bag with wine and goodies and a restaurant gift certificate which we did enjoy. I did find that she did not call back when she said she would, and after being told she would arrive around 11:00AM to drop off some things to us, she didn't show up until after 12 noon. Spent the morning waiting around instead of being out on the beach! Slightly frustrating. No apoligies for arriving late. Said she would call the next day to let me know if I could check out late. Never heard back from her at all. Not sure what happened there. Though ammends were made with the gifts given to us I find it very hard to be satisfied with the stay. We did make the best of it however I feel that Kitty Dunes dropped the ball. The situation was blamed on the owner for not having a spring clean done, but my check-in envelope stated that someone from Kitty Dunes checked off that the property had been "inspected" and "cleaned." No real apology was made on behalf of Kitty Dunes' lack of attention to detail. I feel it was blamed on the owner. I doubt very seriously that the owner filled out my check-in paperwork and checked off "clean" and "inspected". I feel like the rental wasn't inspected or cleaned at all prior to our arrival. I work in customer service as well and taking responsibility for your actions is a VERY important part of customer satisfaction, and that is what will keep customers returning. I would hesitate to refer my friends, and if I did refer them it would be with caution due to my experience.
