Help us make it rightKinkead's is an American Brasserie, with a heavy emphasis on seafood. The restaurant, located just four blocks from The White House at 2000 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, is a two-story, 220-seat restaurant offering a choice of two settings the more casual street level bar and café, and the upstairs dining room featuring a kitchen open to full view. Chef Bob Kinkead adapts unique dishes from around...
I had not been to Kinkead's in quite a while. The food was as inventive and delicious as I had remembered. The menu had a Section of "Classics from which my wife ordered the Pepita Salmon which was even better than she remembered. I had the Soft Shell, excellent. First courses were beautifully presented and delicious and we spilt a strawberry-rhubarb dessert sampler and almost ordered a second...
How this place stays in business is just beyond my comprehension. Terribly rude, slow service. God awful food. Uncomfortable atmosphere.

Mealy fish that smelled like it was a week old. Fried zucchini cooked to the consistency of Funyons. A waitress who was rude and did not answer questions or volunteer any information about the nasty food we were about to consume. No sommelier to explain the huge wine list. Will never go back.

I would like to say that this place is my absolute favorite! I come from a family heavily involved in the food business and am therefore not easy to please by any means. I would travel the 3 hours without question to eat...
Specialities at Kinkead's include char-grilled squid over polenta with tomato confit, grilled skate with veal and rockfish with artichokes. The kitchen staff is visible on the 2nd floor. Live Jazz on the weeknights.
