Hard to find a family restaurant where the food don't taste processed. Sugar is the number one spice in the south now and is found even in vegetables. Surprisingly most items are fresh and made from scratch. They take pride in food preparation and service.

Some of the food here is good but the last time I went I had dirt on my salad and my food was overcooked, so I have not been back.

I was hoping the Stanley location would be as wonderful as the Charlotte location, but I was sadly disappointed. Squash and okra had no flavor. They tasted like breading. The beef tips and rice were okay. Too many peppers. Cornbread was cold. The tea was good, however I spent over $10 for the lunch special and a drink. This is...

Gus' Sir Beef serves good home-cooking. The staff is very friendly and the prices are reasonable. Hometown atmosphere.

The family opened Gus’ Sir Beef in 1969 serving up fresh farmed vegetables and Gus’ own delicious recipes. Gus’ soon became famous throughout the Charlotte area for its “Fresh my farm vegetables”, “Home cooked meals” and family atmosphere.
