Kenji Hibachi and Sushi Bar is a modern and upscale restaurant Japanese restaurant located in the Far West End neighborhood of Richmond, Virginia, across from Short Pump Town Center. This sushi bar and hibachi grill serves a wide variety of Japanese cuisine and is open for lunch and dinner. Kenji is considered by many of our guests as having the best and most fresh sushi available in Richmond.

Came here with a party of 20 people. All were my clients, two of which were japanese. They thought it was the best sushi they have ever tasted. They took care of all of us, the chef was very friendly and gave us extra servings. The waitresses were on point, very respectable. I come here every week with my clients, and Meio the owner always comes by and speaks to them and tells them what a great person I am. She's got a great sense of humor:) The food is always OUTSTANDING! Look forward to many more meals.
We have been to several japanese steak houses in richmond, and this was the worst ever!!! The sushi presentation was awful! All our maki's fell apart! and we had the longest wait ever.. just to get three kenji awesome rolls!!! " Kenji awesome rolls" whats so awesome about them? Our Male server barely spoke any english~!!Gave us weird face expressions! The host/manager spoke to us in a tone of voice that shouln't have been spoken! The sushi chef there came over and sat next to us~ which made us feel so uncomfortable..! We also ordered cranberry juice and got a tiny amount and was charged like 2 or 3 dollars? and no refills? this is the most insane,unorganized restraunt we have ever been to! WE highly would never recommend anyone to go here!!! We have been to this restraunt about five times and there seems to be no improvement!!!
Talk about fresh.....I am surprised it didn't swim off my plate!!
The sushi is outstanding at Kenji, the staff is friendly and helpful.
Daily specials are delicious---its hard to decide on just one special, so get two,
and take some of this tasty sushi home for later!

We visited this place on a suggestion from my boss and we were very pleased with our experience. The location is beautiful and service staff very friendly. Try the plum wine, it's to die for!! Excellent food... Ate every last scrap of leftovers we brought home. Will visit again for sure!!
We stopped here while on vacation and glad we're only passing through because we wouldn't return if we lived in the area. The food was decent enough, nothing to brag about but horribly overpriced. I don't mind paying $100 on dinner for two but when I do I expect that it should come with terrific service. It did not. There...
Expensive, very small portions (I had tuna handroll- odd presentation) eel and yellowtail nigiri. Too many other options to return for sushi here
