Editorial reviews from the web (1)

If you're "looking to party with a sheikh" (or the chic), then join Downtown's "see-and-be-seen" set at this "beautiful, lavish" lounge, with gold accents and "interesting lighting", for dancing "all night long" to everything from "trance" to "house beats to hit remixes" from the "latest DJs"; sure, you'll pay "VIP" prices for drinks, but the "recent renovation" (in late 2011) "makes you never...

I think this place is fairly decent. Compared to most places in DC, I think it provides a kind of diverse atmosphere. I appreciate the addition of the stripper poles on the main dance floor....

20 dollar cover, expensive drinks, i guess that's what DC is all about. Typical club. Not sure if the cover is there all the time. They were advertising an "international DJ" that night, not sure...

"This is it, one of the ""it"" spots of DC for a couple years. The DJs spin the best music of yesterday and today to keep the beats going and create some of their own mixes as well, always knowing what the crowd wants. The decor is filled with damask, chandeliers and cabriole tables to give a 20's feel with a modern glam. Don't miss this spot for the time of your night!"

LOVE it there. Have gone on hip-hop night and Middle Eastern night and both times it was super fun. Gogo dancers were silly and not very good but its always packed and fun. Some of the VIP tables are placed in strange places, but other than that two thumbs up.

Josephine was fantastic for a significant amount of time after opening, which justified the excess door snobbery. Unfortunately, while the initial luster has faded substantially, the attitude at the door remains unchanged. The last couple of times I've been in there, it seemed relatively empty and much less of a "beautiful crowd" for lack of a better phrase. The servers and bartenders, however,...

Business description (2)

Dance Clubs: Once you get inside, which is half the battle, Josephine features a feast for your eyes. Not only are most of the guests beautiful but so is the atmosphere. Plush couches allow club goers to rest their feet after tearing up the dance floor to the mixes put on by well-known international DJs as chandeliers hang from the ceiling to add a posh flair to the establishment. Mirrored...

Named after Napoleon’s wife, Josephine’s is as opulent as you would expect. The sofas and tables look like they were borrowed from Versailles. Even the entryway is dwarfed by an enormous crystal chandelier. To get in, dress to the nines. If you do get past the requisite red velvet ropes, the servers and bartenders all look like models and there’s a strict guy-to-girl guest ratio. Two rooms play...
