I pretty much have to agree with Synfully. When these guys opened, the food was pretty darn good with some interesting items you don't usually see on a Chinese buffet. They also had really good service then.
Our favorite waitress moved to New York - and shortly after ROH had a kitchen fire and were closed for a long time... and we moved on.
Last week, we went there for dinner on whim, and the food was pretty awful. Much of it had clearly been sitting around since lunch. I tried a number of different items and was disappointed with most all of them. We won't be back.
The food here was less than average. It had obviously sat out for far longer than it should have. Servers scraped crusty, dried out left overs into the fresh food that was brought from the kitchen. The chicken for the sweet & sour chicken could have been used as hockey pucks. They were also out of several types of soda.
The restaurant itself was hot & humid. The service was slow & unfriendly. There are many great Chinese restaurants in Raleigh, but this is not one of them.
This is a chinese buffet restaurant that has snippets of sushi and a monogolian grill. The food has always been fresh on the buffet and outstanding! They sometimes switch up the foods on the buffet, but I've never had anything bad.
Definitely worth the money! (Also, check in your ValPak and Clipper Magazine for coupons. They are always in there.)
Pros
+ fresh hot buffet, variety of items, Mongolian grill, price
Cons
- they need more sushi :)
