Built in 1939, Jennette's Pier was North Carolina's oldest wooden ocean-fishing pier until 2003 when Hurricane Isabel knocked it down. In 2009, the state of North Carolina came to the rescue, breaking ground for not only a new, 1,000-foot-long concrete pier but also a public beach access point with 262 free parking spaces. Nice store and great spot for pictures. Nice to see the Wind turbines to produce electric. Info about them on pier. Watch out for people fishing if you are just going for the view. Sad you have to pay when not fishing.

I was amazed at the beautiful architecture and the massive pier construction. It seems as though the engineering feat will last through the hurricanes.
We stopped by here on a windy afternoon. The pier is very nice and the views were wonderful. We talked to some of the people fishing and one gentlemen let me son hold his fishing pole, he was thrilled. My daughter enjoyed chasing the birds around that love to hang around the pier and it was a nice experience for...
