This event showcases independent films from around the world. "The Independent Film Festival of Boston (IFFBoston) shows films that people might not get a chance to see anywhere else, films that are both innovative and crowd-pleasing. It offers the chance to meet the filmmakers at post-screening parties, and to ask them questions both after the films and at festival panels."
This annual event, held in April-May is highly awaited by the Bostonites. The IFF acts as a platform for independent films and features entries from around the world. The Independent Film Festival of Boston is the brainchild of the non-profit Independent Film Society of Boston. As part of its mission to showcase artistic, independently-made films created by directors from all over the world, the IFFBoston will present more than 75 films over six days, as well as Q&As, a handful of thought-provoking panels and prizes for Best Feature, Best Documentary and Best Short. Tickets and passes can be purchased through the event's website.
Venues include the Somerville Theatre, Brattle Theatre and Coolidge Corner Theatre.
