This diminutive Lower East Side spot is discretely located down a flight of stairs, and you should arrive early if you want any chance of grabbing one of the wooden booths. Special attention is paid to the preparation and presentation of the drinks, with each different kind coming in its own unique shaped glass (think ball-shaped glasses for whiskeys and scotches).

Best kept secret south of Canal Street. Any night of the week = a great date spot, after-work drink place, meeting place w friends—or simply a night out by yourself for a drink/bite. “i”, the owner, is the Gem of the place. Everything there is an extension of her- Great Food/Drinks/Staff/Atmosphere. “i” cooks all of the specials - mouth watering home cooked-like american based dishes- u come back for more night after night. Go enough and you might have the privilege of letting her order for you! Drinks- Golden Cadillac and fo-get 'bout it. Staff is real. Each bartender has their own style....

Chill place with good sounds, staff, prices.

This was a mellow place to come and hang. The nice music mix was dancable downstairs, the game was watchable upstairs, and the atmosphere was so toned down that I forgot I was on Manhattan. Expect nothing, and you'll love it. Ask for the world with speedy service and a 'sir' or 'mam' and you'll be disappointed. I had fun. This place is a great find.

Business description (4)

I D S is located at 88 Franklin St, New York, NY..

I Restaurant is located at 277 Church St, New York, NY. This location is in the Tribeca neighborhood. This business specializes in Family Style Restaurants.

I Restaurant was founded in 2006. I Restaurant specializes in Eating Places.

In posh Tribeca, a cheap and relaxed happy hour can be hard to find, and "i" is a rare treat. Friendly barkeeps mix generous well drinks and keep the inexpensive beers coming, and suits mingle with sneaker-clad students from nearby New York Law School. This welcoming hangout makes an ideal spot for a cheap date on Thursday nights from 5pm to 7pm, when patrons relax to live jazz without a cover.
