Chickpea fanatics will appreciate the fine hummus served at this East village storefront in what has become a relatively tame St. Marks Place environment. You can have your healthy fill of puffy pita, pickles, and hot sauce here for remarkably reasonable prices.

If you like hummus you'll love Hummus Place. The hummus is served warm and is plentiful. My favorite is the Hummus fava which comes with beans and a hard boiled egg. The baked cauliflower appetizer is also excellent and comes with an yummy parsley tahini sauce. For a meal in Manhattan this is a great value, a full satisfying meal...

A friend who is from the middle east told me hummus tastes better at home than here in North America. But I couldn't imagine how can hummus be delicious. But in this restaurant I discovered that hummus can be wonderfully satisfying with fresh pita bread. Try the one with mushrooms!
