Horrible vet! Your pets life at risk!

We took our cat in for a urinary blockage which is common with male cats. They unblocked him and then recommended 2 more surgeries so he wouldn't block again. I asked the vet if she thought it was too soon since he was just under anesthesia for unblocking him. She reassured me everything would be fine a few times. They did the other 2 surgeries a couple of days later but she called me and told me not to come visit him but to call as many times as i wished that day. I was told many times all was great with him and the surgeries went wonderful. I was told that he would be staying 2 to 3 nights from these two surgeries by 3 different people including the vets themselves. I get called from the vet herself telling me that he was doing great and i could come pick him up after him only staying 1 full night. I waited as late as i could to pick him up which was 8 o'clock at night. I brought him home and made him as comfortable as i could but he wouldn't eat, drink, stand up or anything. He just wanted to lay there with his front paws tucked under him! Come to find out they had been force feeding him the whole time he was there and no one told me or gave me a syringe to do the same with him at home. He was listless and lithargic too! All of the reasons on their "go home instructions" why we should bring him back to the vet or emergency hospital! He awoke us early in the morning making horrible screaming sounds that i have never heard at cat do before. He wasn't even home for a full 8 hours and he passed away in the morning.
We can't imagine why the vets would have released him in the condition that he was in and not even tell us they were having any problems with him! Something must have gone wrong during his surgery that we weren't told about and they wanted to get paid before he died at their vet on them. The owner was very rude and arrogant to us and was not compassionate at all! We still can't believe the way he acted towards us when we went to talk to him. He was trying to back peddle at of everything so he wouldn't have to reinburse us any money or anything. He is just money hungry and could careless about anyones pets! I use to work at a vet and they would have never sent anyones pet home in this kind of condition! I have other pets and if they would have had more compassion and reinbursed us the money for the last 2 surgeries i may had consider taking my other pets there to a different vet but it cost us over $3000 to receive our pet from them in this kind of condition and to die only a few hours after being sent home early. The owner tried blaming everything on the receptionists as if they are stupid and don't know what they are doing when the vets told us the same thing. He didn't know who he was trying to lie to either because i worked at a vet and did both techniician and receptionist work and the receptionists are the very ones who know how long at pet is supposed to stay for certain surgeries, procedures etc. Because they book these appointments and need to leave the correct alloted amount of time for each pet so they won't run out of cages. I also wonder if they took on too many sick pets at a time and needed to make more space for more sick pets and sent mine home early to make more space to make more money! I guess we will never know the truth about the situation of him being sent home early!

Word to the wise! Don't trust what they say and always just show up and check on your pet with out calling them. If they tell you not to visit...then show up and demand to visit anyway! This is the only way to be sure your pet is getting quality care!
I wish i would have done research first because i would had seen another complaint about this vet too!
Apparently they can't take care of the ordinary things that happen to pets let alone anything out of the ordinary!
The owner "dr. Goldman" made sure he took the meds that i never got to use back but didn't want to reimburse me for them or the $25 (mild) ear cleaning they did without my authorization while he was their for being sick!

What the hell were they thinking by doing a (mild) ear cleaning when he wasn't in there for general visit. I wouldn't have even known about the ear cleaning if i didn't look at my bill of everything they did just like no one told me about having to force feed him the whole time.
But he was supposedly doing so great to come home early and the surgery went wonderful too!
A bunch of "bs"! Dr, coleen mccafferty is a liar just like the owner "dr. Goldman"!
Don't trust any of them!

Seems like there's been a staffing change and no one seems friendly or helpful as I remembered it from previous visits anymore. A chubby young girl with black long hair at the Front desk wasn't nice, and didn't feel like giving pricing information and almost was seeming like they'd prefer to turn away business then have a client wait an hour to be seen. This was a total shock because I've been to huffard animal hospital for 3 years and the staff has always been nice and helpful and flexible up until now.

I sat and waited patiently and thought I was going to at least get the great...

Disheartened about the service and staff at this animal hospital when a friend told me the vet won't help her elderly dog because she has a small balance on her account. He has been going here...

Dr. McDermott was amazing with my cat Brandon. I have never had a vet that spent the amount of time she did on my cat. She explained everything that was happening. She wanted to make sure that I understood what was going on and what my options were. She didn't rush like most vets.
