Shameless Over-marketing

From the time you accompany your pet to an exam room there is too much marketing which over-shadows the pets health. I was satisfied with the vet who owns the business concerning his exam but once that was over, it was buying a new car and listening to all the add on dealer prep.

I believe it cheapens the clinic and they are doing themselves a disservice to be barraged with media in any health care facility.

We all like to think that doctors are benevolent and abide by the Hippocratic Oath, to do no harm, but the truth in my considerable experience is medicine has become big business. The days of unbiased concern and a clear understanding of what is truly needed vs. nice to do, are gone. So many times the optional services are presented as necessary when they are not. Its a shame because we all love our pets and want them cared for, not used as an emotional marketing opportunity.

In the future it seems I will have to clarify at the onset that we want services need to fix a problem or manage an ailment. What happened to just fixing a problem?

They are only after money!

This facility has SERIOUS financial accounting problems that should concern you, as it did me. I picked up my puppy from surgery on September 18 and spend an HOUR afterwards trying to figure out what, if anything, I owed. I was actually due money, based on the transaction history, but the same week I received a call that, in fact, I OWED money, and not just what I calculated and knew the balance was, but MORE.

Last week I finally had to go into the office to resolve with the financial specialists. I, again, spent and HOUR because the money they said due was NOT reflected on the bill, was caused initially by a major error on a staff person's part (giving credit for treatment my now-deceased dog didn't fulfill). I even was taken to the back office to look at their internal billing system computer to try and interpret it together!

Completely alarming and unprofessional.

Not to mention I had to repeatedly question the various and balances they said I owed. No pet owner or anyone receiving a service should EVER have to go through this. Absolutely appalling.

Worse yet, despite the constant back and forth with the bill, they showed ZERO remorse, provided zero good faith gestures...a break, a mint, water, anything, just a "we're sorry, our colleague made major mistake, but you actually owe us money. It's more money than we said, as well."

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE. Instead, consider using reputable businesses like Acredale Animal Hospital or Hickory Animal Hospital.
