I enlisted the service of Home Instead Virginia Beach for my 89 year old Mother who has Alzheimer's. I was promised if an aide was ever going to be late or couldn't make it into work (at my residence) that I'd never have to worry about my Mom being alone. They would make sure somebody was there on time. i unfortunately learned that aides are generally late without the knowledge of the office staff. There have been instances where an aide simply never came to work and I never knew about it because the office never told me. So, my Mom sat by herself all day with nothing to eat and nobody to help her change (she's incontinent).
The was an instance where an aide was at the house and NEVER assisted my Mom to the bathroom, at all. I got home from work and thee back of my Mom's pants (from the waistline to the back of her knees) were soaking wet with urine. I got her into the bathroom and she was covered in feces. the aide did nothing that day to assist my elderly Mother. I called the franchise owner, Mike Bousman and he yelled and screamed at me saying I was harassing him and he then hung up on me.He could care less about the patients/customers. I pay thousands of dollars a month so his aides can neglect and abuse my Mom. Stay away from this place!!!
Home Instead Virginia Beach was hired to care for my 89 year old Mother who suffered from Alzheimer's disease. Aides would arrive late, one day, I stayed home from work and no aide showed up at all that day however, the office staff insisted an aide was at my residence. Then I told them I was standing in my kitchen, it was 3 hours past the time the aide should've reported but wasn't there....
Great office staff and caregivers! They take the time to make sure that you get a regular caregiver and if an emergency happens they will find a replacement instead of leaving you hanging like some agencies do.
Sometimes didn't show up when they were supposed to or showed up late and still charged when an aide never even showed. Came home to find my Mom sitting in urine soaked pants with feces all over her. Called the owner to discuss my concern (after several calls were flat out ignored) only to be cursed out and hung up on. This company is extremely dependable. The caregivers are compassionate and wonderful. I highly recommend them.
