The Carson House built in 1793, once served as the home of Colonel John Carson and as the McDowell County courthouse. In 1964, it became a public museum and library; it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and prominent personalities like Andrew Jackson, Davy Crockett and Sam Houston, have stopped at the Carson House.
I thought historic house was authentic and inviting. I got a true sense of what it was like to live in that era I enjoyed it very much and would go many times over.
I visited with my daughter and granddaughter. Had a great time and learned a lot too. Will def. Visit again.
