I've been visiting Hi Way Cafe since 1992.
The food is always good.
It comes in a nice portion for a reasonable price.
Yes, there are better places around; but I like it just the same.

Stopped in to give it a shot and it was a mistake. Ordered the chimichanga with chili con queso and it was 90% beans & the cheese was the same cheese you get from 7 eleven. The meat had no flavor and was cut up so small you had to dig for it. The salsa was good. The beans were...

Just had lunch here. Very good Austin Style Tex Mex (every region in Texas is a little different). I had the Mexican Plate with soft and crispy tacos, chalupa, enchilada and the normal rice and beans with added guacamole. Everything was fresh and tasty. Highway been here a long time. Steady Tex-Mex with daily and lunch specials. Lunch includes tea. Real readable price, try the Mexican Plate. Easy to find a little hard to get too.

Nothing Fancy but Quick and Good

I have eaten here over the years. I actually ate at the "sister" restaurant (in the same extended family) in Florence, TX, Mano's, before I had eaten at Hi Way. The chips are crispy and warm and the salsa has a very fresh mild taste. Both places have a special where you can pick 3 items for less than $6.00!...
