Help us make it rightThe food was not good at all..I was very disappointed. The fish was hard, the potato salad was not home made as I thought it should have been. You can tell it come out of a container.
Best resturant in Norfolk Virginia. I visited Harry's at least once a week when I was in the military. I live in Cincinnati now and I can kill for Harry's Famous Barbeque right now. Good People! Good Service!!
Gotta love Harry's. Nothing fancy here at all. Just good southern BBQ and all the fixins. Just go with the experience and be prepared for some Hun's and Darlin's from behind the counter.
The Scene
For a touch of soul in downtown, this is the place to go. Downtown workers populate Harry's at lunchtime for a quick, hot meal, but the dinner crowd is more diverse and the...
The first time I went the food was Amazing, the last two times it was average. Maybe worth a try if you are in the area and in the mood for soul food.
Great place and everyone is very friendly. I dine in everytime I take my son back to school. This is a restaurant not a fast food place thus it will take longer than 1 minute to get your meal. The food is awesome home cooked. It's not canned soul food like many places now days. Very reasonably priced... Where can you get a three course meal for under ten dollars? Don't forget the sweet tea and...
I am white and my husband is Indian, southern Indian so he is very dark skinned. We went to Harry's one Sunday afternoon because he said he had heard great things about it from some of his friends. I could tell from the moment we walked in the door that I wasn't welcome there and it just kept getting worse. The food was a joke, the service was nonexistent and we could wait to leave before anything else happened. Also, I was 9 months pregnant at the time so all the dirty looks from what I would assume were employees didn't help matters. They succeeded...we got the hell out of there as...
I'm from Georgia. It takes alot for me to eat fried chicken at a restaurant but I ordered fried chicken and ribs. The chicken was amazing! a perfect scald ( if you don't know what that means you've never used an iron skillet), hot, right out of the pan, tender and juicy. The ribs were not as tender as I'm used to but the sauce makes up for it. You could eat it with a spoon. The sides were a great match. The mac 'n cheese, collard greens, green beans, corn bread all of it was exactly what southern food is all about. If you still have space you have to get a sweet potato jack.
