very interesting and informative museum. unfortunately we couldn't watch the film because there was something wrong with the projector. some maps of europe were inaccurate.
We were doing a cruise of harbor and only had a short time to look as museum was about to close. My fil enjoyed the information about the Great White Fleet since his father had been a part of that event. This was free although inside the ticketed Nautilus Museum. Would return if we had more time in the area.
Took my in-laws to this museum and was surprised at how well laid out it was. It did have a strong push to sympathize with the Naval Yard and the U.S. Navy. But it was a excellent set up and had plenty of hands on things for younger kids.
While the large Norfolk Naval Base was not constructed until WWI, this museum has exhibits dating back to the War for Independence and the Naval Campaign of the Virginia Capes and Yorktown through present day.
