The wife and I decided to go to Richmond for the day, and after a day of fun things we decided to some real soul food. What could be more "real" than a place called "Grandma's Soul Food"? We found what appeared to be an absolute hole-in-the-wall, and knew we were in for a treat. Bad location, looked bad from the outside. Just a building surrounded by black tar parking lot. Now curtains - no plants - nothing attractive about the place. Pulled in the parking lot and after a quick discussion with our group, left. Looked more like a carry-out with minimal inside seating. Faded cut-out pictures of food in the windows

They almost had me as a satisfied regular customer. A couple days after my first time eating there I wanted more...this time I wanted to catch the lunch special since I got there too late last time which advertise an entree two sides and a roll for 5.99 the regular priced meal is 10.99. So first im told I cant have bbq chkn and I was told my meat options ..fine I'll get fried chicken forget...

I reviewed this restaurant before, and the only issue I had was the prices. This time my food was horrible, what i wanted they didn't have, and my husband and i waited almost two hours, and still left with no food, because they didnt have what we ordered. I suggest they start making more of certain foods or go out...

The food is some of the best soul food I've ever tasted, but the prices are ridiculous....You do get a lot of food so I suggest you order one dinner and share, because it's definately enough for two.
