The Garment District so many reviews!!! I want to give this place more stars but I just can't. Let me tell you why. Let me first tell you what I like about this place. They have so many great accessrories, costumes for so many different occasions like parties, halloween etc... For Halloween they are crazy busy, if you like to shop quietly come couple weeks in advance. I think Halloween is the busiest season for them. I was here and got some nice blue sunglasses and a great blue wig, I also got other interesting and cool accessories to fit my outfit. I also got a cute black customized T shirt. The lady employee made my shirt very fast and was very helpful and nice. I wanted her to use different color for each letter. The result was great. I like the shirt it came out nice. What I hate about this place: they really need to renovate the whole building. The building looks so bad. Who is the owner? The store looks too bad for Kendall Square Mit Cambridge area. Not only it looks bad but as soon as I get inside the store gives bad allergies. The whole store is full of dust. They sell brand new items, but they also sell old clothes by the pound. Clothes by the pound? That's just so weird. They have 2 floors. The staff is ok but not mixed at all. They have fitting rooms. One last thing they have some weird commercials on tv most of them will appear on tv around Halloween. I don't think I will be back their prices are very high. I will get my costumes online next time. Truereview here to tell you the truth.
This warehouselike building is crammed with vintage, used, and new clothing and accessories. Students crowd the store year-round, and everyone comes at Halloween for that perfect costume.
You're hitting the clubs and you want to look cool, but money is tight. Join the shoppers here, paying great prices for a huge selection of contemporary and vintage clothing, costumes, and accessories. "Dollar a pound" merchandise on the first floor actually costs $1.50 a pound. And Boston Costume, which is on the premises, is the place for rental, retail, and vintage costumes, which are...
Bargain hunting clothes horses from far and wide make regular pilgrimages to dig through warehouse size room's piles and racks of 60-80s vintage, costumes, designer labels and accessories. Depending on luck, timing and persistence, either a trove of discarded treasures, or pile of musty junk. Will also buy your old shit. $1.50 a pound pile usually offers a few good finds for the intrepid...
The Scene

If you've went thrift shopping a lot in your life, you'll love this place. Clothes by the pound is great. Having the inside hotter than the hinges of hell with fans blowing hot air back on you not for me. Genuinely laughed at the Members Only jacket rack collecting dust though. Lots of unique dresses, etc., if you can take the heat!
It's just too hot to pick through piles of clothes. The articles on racks were fine, the quality vintage pieces were great, but unless you need to shop by the pound or are a true fashionista...
