It's hard to imagine this dingy hole-in-the-wall is actually the same legendary Chinese restaurant that hordes of knowledgeable Washingtonians consider a sacred city gem. But once you taste the Hong-Kong style soup, a steaming tangle of noodles and bulging shrimp dumplings, you'll know you've got the right place. These are authentic Chinese dishes expertly prepared. The flavorful casseroles...

Editorial reviews from the web (1)

"Dead ducks" in the window and a "Formica-filled" interior ID this Chinese eatery as a "hard-core, real-deal" Chinatown spot where the "amazingly long menu" (much of it posted on the wall) ranges from Hong Kong's "traditional soups" to "rare and interesting delicacies" that come at "rock-bottom" prices; the "ornery" service just "makes the experience more genuine"; P.S. the same-named Falls...

My co-worker has been telling me about this place for several months now, I finally drove by on my way to work and got the Baby Clams and Black Bean Sauce and it was great. I also had the Baby Snow Pea Leaf Greens. I recommend this restaurant. They also have a lot of soups to try.

Went there straight from airport after dropping of bags at hotel. Ordered soy source chicken and wanton noddle soup for dinner. I like Cantonese food and this is fantastic. Portion is just right. This restaurant has no coat rack. Warning: waitress checked the amount you tip (physically counting $) when you handed the transaction. The 5 star rating is for...

Recommended by Lonely Planet, this restaurant was full of Washington asian residents. As entry, we had a delicious sweet & spicy soup(highly recommended). We ordered duck (their specialty) and chicken noodle. Everything was awesome !The portions are big so arrive here hungry ;)

This is the place I go whenever I want to eat Chinese food in DC. The restaurants serve good Chinese food with reasonable price. I love their chicken fried rice with salted fish, steamed fish, and many more. the atmosphere is very casual, so don't come here in suits. It opens early and closes very late - at 2AM!

Business description (4)

Full Kee's menu features Chinese food. The menu includes duck, crab, shrimp, clam, jelly fish, beef, pork, fried rice, dumpling, and soup dishes.

A Chinatown favorite for decades, Full Kee is known for its succulent roasted meats and filling noodle dishes. The decor is simple and spare; the menu is anything but. Although you'll find all the stalwarts you expect -- including fried rice, sesame chicken, sweet & sour shrimp, steamed pork dumplings, vegetable lo mein, spring rolls and egg drop soup -- adventurous diners head to the "Gourmet...

This Cantonese favorite is known for succulent roasted meats and filling noodle and dumpling dishes. The decor is simple and spare, but the menu is anything but that. Locals claim that the menu's back page offers the best dishes; specials might include breaded oyster casserole with ginger and scallions or Hong Kong shrimp dumplings. Soups are legendary. No reservations. Casual dress. METRO:...

Many locals swear by Full Kee, which has a wide assortment of Cantonese-style roasted meats. Order from the house specialties, not the tourist menu; the meal-size soups garnished with roast meats are the best in Chinatown. Tried-and-true dishes include the steamed dumplings, crispy duck, eggplant with garlic sauce, and sautéed leek flower. No credit cards. Metro: Gallery Place/Chinatown.
