The tented ceiling imparts a vaguely Moorish feel to this intimate restaurant. Friday Saturday Sunday is counted upon by locals for dependable food and very personal service, and also for one of the best-priced wine lists around. Owner Weaver Lilly has worked with chef Samantha Orskog to craft an approachable American menu that includes a melon and heirloom tomato salad, seafood over farro...
In Short
The restaurant Friday Saturday Sunday's upstairs neighbor is named after its most noteworthy design element--a 135-gallon tropical fish tank in which trigger fish and panther...
This is a lovely, romantic, neighborhood restaurant. The food is consistently good, the servers are very friendly and professional and the setting is cosy and comfortable. Who could ask for more?
I had been wanting to go to Friday Saturday Sunday for years and years. Finally, my boyfriend took this this year for my birthday. Now, granted it was a Wednesday night, but this place was DEAD. My boyfriend and I were seated upstairs...we were the only people up there. It's very dark inside which should be sexy, but instead it just comes off really dated and kind of cheesy. The food, however,...
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday is frequently over-looked in favor of newer spots. The food here is consistently excellent with a diner friendly selection of dishes. The cream of mushroom soup is the best anywhere. While it has a neighborhood feel, it is cozy and romantic, with great food. Highly recommended.
I have been eating here since the place opened, and I have never had a bad meal. I went with friends who until 12 years ago used to live in Phila. who were visiting. I had asked where they wanted to dine--even suggested places on our new restaurant row on E. Passyunk--they were adamant that they wanted to eat at FSS--their favorite Philly restaurant. The food is excellent as is the service. The...
Friday Saturday Sunday remains a great dining experience and a great bargain. The menu is imaginative, the portion sizes sensible, and the wines excellently paired with the food, whether you choose a bottle or a glass. The paté is wonderful and the fish always cooked just right. The restaurant is a bit overlooked, perhaps because it has been in business so much longer than most, but its cuisine...
Small innovative neighborhood eatery serves such entrees as striped bass salmon and duck. Leave room for the coconut cream pie and creme brulee.

it was the most improbable of beginnings. In a business known for it’s high failure rate, Friday Saturday Sunday Restaurant was launched on a dare: Jay Gubin dared Weaver Lilley and Arnie Roberts to open a restaurant with him by each putting $2000.00 into a hat. Jay Gubin, a brilliant concept person, was the perennial entrepreneur. Arnie Roberts, a “natural” marketing whiz, was also one of the...

"Best tiny romantic restaurant" - Philadelphia Magazine “It’s a Rittenhouse Square classic. With its romantic dining room and cool upstairs tank bar, it’s one of the most vibrant spots with a finely rendered menu. Great wine list and only a $10 markup on each bottle.” –Craig LaBan, Philadelphia Inquirer
