Help us make it rightI saw her for marital counseling. From the outset, there were problems. She gave us a questionnaire about our partners and never said she would read them TO the partner, verbatim. While my answers would have been the same, I'd have worded them differently because I know how my ex hears things. From there, she was VERY one-sided. Her strengths list alcoholism and co-dependency, yet none of that and my desire to avoid it from my ex's family was EVER discussed. She told me that talking to my best friend about things I was struggling with was akin to cheating and insisted I was in love with my best (same sex, living across the country) best friend. Not once did she address my ex-husband's physicality towards me, his complete unwillingness to compromise on keeping his dad away from our kids while his dad was drunk, or really ANYTHING I stated. She never addressed his dad marrying his mistress IN THE HOUSE he grew up in and the house his mother lived in until she died early. Our last session I was obviously furious because she kept drilling me about my best friend while just letting him answer short and to the point when she DID ask him anything, and when I never came back, I got not so much as a phone call. From the outset, she chose a side and told us there was only ONE way to have a healthy marriage, never asking what WE thought was healthy or good for us, or even what we wanted. There are too many kinds of people to have one model fit all and all seeing her did was speed up my leaving my (now) ex-husband. She was really h@!%!*n me, always questioning and repeating the same questions in different ways while just taking him at his word. It was like she didn't believe a word I said while just taking him at face value. I cannot recommend her to anyone who actually wants to be heard and work on their marriage. Mayebe she's great if you fall into her ideal, but if you don't, be prepared to just be picked apart and made to feel like c@!p.

I have Jody Alperin she is very kind she listen and take her time getting to the problems at hand. I look forward to seeing her every week. I wished that she was in the Chesapeake office more however I'm still thankful.

Wonderful practice. Dr. Weissman is was very prompt in returning my initial call. He was always available and worked with my schedule. I felt very comfotable working with him.
