Do you own The Duck & Dumpling? Contact us to connect with your diners.

Long before Fayetteville Street reopened and Hargett Street reawakened, The Duck & Dumpling was a favorite for busy executives at lunch, pre-theater crowds for dinner and romantic first dates that lingered until closing. The Duck was a catalyst for a new era of dining in downtown Raleigh in 2002 when Chef David Mao brought his contemporary spin on Chinese-Vietnamese home cooking. Now that Chef...

Designed to conjure up an old mining building, this little lodge is part of a huge master-planned resort community at the eastern end of Snoqualmie Pass. This lodge seems to be primarily a teaser for potential new-home and condo buyers, but the setting in the east-side pine forests is pretty enough, although a bit out of the way for outdoors enthusiasts planning on hiking or skiing. The golf...

Our favorite Asian restaurant in Raleigh has the kind of glossy, minimalist decor that evokes an upscale neighborhood in Hong Kong -- a cocoon of burnished teak and cherrywood. Reasonably priced and charmingly unpretentious, it has a large and accommodating bar near its entrance and a sophisticated array of martinis, some made with sake. The chef is likely to pay a personal visit to your table...

From the dramatic Chinese lacquer-red lighting overhead to the efficient black-clad waitstaff who patrol the floor between the dining room's upholstered banquettes and the mirrored mahogany bar, the atmosphere at this Asian bistro on Moore Square is urban contemporary. That's just the right mood for the brief but varied pan-Asian bill of fare, which ranges from Vietnamese spring rolls to...

Upscale Asian Bistro brings finesse to downtown Raleigh.

In Short
This downtown addition is cosmopolitan in style and decor, with beautiful mahogany wood paneling enhanced by warm red lighting. Classic jazz plays in the background, tables are...

REALLY, REALLY GOOD!

The food here is outstanding, I have eaten here a number of times and never hesitate to go back. I can't say enough about the fried rice.

The last time we went we had a large table and ordered a lot of different dishes. All were delicous.

Drink specials were a little weird though, can't remember what they were but I think one had an egg in gin or vodka, can't speak to how it tasted though..I took a pass on that one :)

Located downtown, The Duck & Dumpling is a traditional Chinese restaurant which serves quality dishes in a comfortable atmosphere. Its menu offers small plates like steamed dumplings and cold sesame noodles, as well as entrees like sea bass and duck in black bean sauce.

Come taste Chef William D’Auvray’s inspired take on traditional Thai comfort food. At Fai Thai, we grill and slow roast over hot flames using coconut and mangrove wood for charcoal, helping to bring authentic Thai flavors to our dishes. It’s our interpretation of rustic and traditional Thai food, the kind you might find at street grills in Bangkok or the water markets on the Mekong River....
