We went for a dinner with our local model train club, and even with a large group, Eckhard's excelled. The appetizers, sides and main courses were all exceptional. Sides are served one bowl per table, but they'll always bring more if requested. Service was attentive as usual. Hope they have the seafood lasagna again sometime!

Eckhard's is a destination place for people who live or are visiting the Middle Peninsula or Northern Neck of Virginia. Having visited several times, we have learned the oysters are uniformly good - either fried or Rockefeller, the prime rib special on Saturday night massive. we have also tried the German offerings and some of the specials for the evening....

Surprising

We were just driving, looking for a place to eat. Great food, although a little exotic. Kind of surprising to find a high quality restaurant in pretty much the middle of nowhere. Service was great, staff very welcoming.

This was a real disappointing experience. Years ago my wife and I used to eat here when Eckhard and Frau Bnunhilda owned the place. The food then was very good and the service wonderful.
