Help us make it rightIn December 2016 I took my vehicles to Dodds to get some repair work done before I left for Florida. After numerous calls and broken promises I finally picked up my car in April. Paul the owner kept changing the date of when the car would be completed. One of the repairs was to replace ball joints, And inspect the vehicle. Per the owner Paul this was completed and vehicle passed inspection. After spending 4500.00 on repairs three months later I was driving my vehicle and the ball joint came off the vehicle. Two different mechanics that have reviewed this car in Florida said it appears Paul or his employees failed to either use an anti-lock nut or never properly installed it. Another thousand dollars in damage due to their lack of proper maintenance. When the ball joint fell off the car the tire fell off when we were driving the vehicle . Luckily we had just turned into a parking lot so our lives and possibly another's lives were spared. There was no warning sounds. Of course Paul now is refusing to return my calls after receiving a text stating he would return my call. Now I have to hire a lawyer and contact the Attorney General's office in the state of Virginia. This was a very dangerous situation. I highly recommend you avoid this shop. As stated in another recent review work is not done when stated and work is not completed properly. Prices are out rages .
We brought our truck in and got it back leaking oil. We notified them of the problem and they fixed it no charge in less than a week. I highly reccommend them!
Dodd's Auto Service has a very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Dodds has been in portsmouth for a gret amount of time. They have trained empolyees who take time to explain any problems with your vehicle. They are fair on prices and work is done in a good amount of time. Never havng to wait too long. The parking is verylimited , they have a small lot and sometimes it is hard to get in and out. On the main road it is easy to find.

great customer service no reason to hate them they are mid priced and specialize on chevy's but can work on anything. they are fast and freindly. just great people.
