I lived at the Dakota at Camelback for almost two years and paid above market rent the whole time compared to other people I met. If you like barking dogs on tons of patios at all hours of the night, it is a great place to live. The management is rude, and if you give them a big deposit, expect that you will not get anything back. It's a ripoff, and I would not recommend it to anyone.
I live there right now, my company put me up there for coporate housing. We have a 2 bedroom apartment and it is big. But, you can hear your neighbors and the office staff is very rude. One person in the office actually stood there and argued with me, trying to tell me my roommate had picked up a package (which she hadn't). I've lived here for almost a year, and the only complaint is the less than stellar dishwasher. No bugs. Gated. Two pools. Fitness center is small but up to date. I would recommend this place - in fact, I have. I'm helping my friend move in tomorrow, and I'm renewing my lease. There are always good specials going on, so the rent for our one-bedroom apartment isn't really $800/month.
I have lived here for three years and I have loved it here. My apartment was very nice, spacious and in a great location. The office staff was very nice and accomodating and the maintenance staff was great. I will miss my apartment and the cookies!!
