This SoHo hot spot draws inspiration from its namesake, once the star-filled sanctum of New York City’s legendary Stork Club. In the ‘40s and ‘50s, the Cub Room, which served as a plush backdrop for “All About Eve” with Bette Davis, drew glamorous film stars, big-name politicos and novelists. In today’s Cub Room, the spirit of glitzy old New York lives on, especially in the swank bar and lounge...

The Scene
Since 1994, the Cub Room--named for the legendary Stork Club's exclusive VIP area--has hosted Soho's chic-and-trendy set. The tall, window-wrapped corner lounge, with its plush,...
You'll have to drag yourself from the Cub Room's inviting lounge and bar scene to the very attractive dining room, but you'll be glad you did. Not because you needed to get away from all the beautiful people at the bar, but because now you get to chow on chef Henry Meer's delectable creations. The menu changes seasonally, but whatever the season, the signature Cub Steak, a butter-roasted filet,...
This is one of my favorite places to take my gluten free son. After a long day in the city our family loves to sit in the lounge, relax and they easily provide gluten free food down to the dessert cupcake for my son!
The atmosphere is fun and the staff are really nice.

Restaurant review of The Cub Room
This used to be one of our favorites. Food was always delicious, full of flavor, even great presentation. Now it's overpriced microwaved frozen food.
The spring rolls were mushy inside, really couldn't eat them, and the carrot soup we couldn't eat more than two bites of because the flavor was so bad. So sad, they used to be known for good food, and was really a treat to go there Have...

Located in the fashionable SoHo district, The Cub Room is a popular destination for lunch, dinner and cocktails. This restaurant is separated into three different areas: an upscale dining room, active bar/lounge, and a casual cafe.
Eleven years into its reign as one of the most prominent SoHo dining experiences, the Cub Room continues to offer its guests, "a large and very busy bar, an adjacent cafe for easily affordable light meals, and a dining room that offers strikingly fine cooking" (Gourmet Magazine). Winner of the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence 4 years in a row, the Cub Room provides ambience, cuisine, and...
Full of curves and polished wood, with a nice lounge area inhabited by a moneyed, trendy set, much attention was paid to the flattering lighting here, making everybody look good. Henry Meer keeps his eye on the food, with grilled asparagus in a champagne-tarragon vinaigrette, lobster salad with mango, duck confit, baby beets and frisee, and roasted Pine Island oysters with butternut squash...

The 18-seat Chef's Table, tucked away in a wainscoted room with French doors, has a view of the kitchen at work. Call ahead to reserve.
The lengthy, international, fairly priced wine list continues to receive Wine Spectator awards. Of the dozen wines by the glass, the Hugel Gentil ($8/$32) pairs nicely with the food.
