This is one of DC's landmarks from the sociological point of view. There is a "Comet community" that gathers around its one table and 8 or so chairs during the week and on Fri/Sat and exchange stories about the community and their lives. One of the last old-world places right in the heart of DC

One of the best things about this deli and liquor store is the pervading laid-back atmosphere. Employees are always helpful, generous and relaxed. Take your time and browse. There is a grand selection of wines, liquor and beer. Deli treats include clubs and subs, hot and cold sandwiches, knishes, salads, half-sour pickles and more.
