Pretty expensive but if you want good italian food, it is so worth it! Come with friends and family and make it a great experience like I did. Definitely try it if you are in the area.
"As you would expect from" Top Chef's Tom Colicchio, this Chelsea "standout" is "top-notch all the way" from the "stellar" American "smart plates" and "first-class service" to the "striking", "spacious" surrounds; "stratospheric" tabs are the only catch, but the Tap Room delivers similar "excellence" for a "lower price."
Re-inspired Top Chef honcho Tom Colicchio goes back to his locavore roots, delivers creative takes on seasonal ingredients. Keeps with the spirit of Tom: Tuesday Dinner, except now available any night of the week. Former Craftsteak space still shoots for grandeur, with big vaulted ceilings and steel columns to complement nearby High Line aesthetic. Tap Room in front warmed by wood-burning oven,...
Tom Colicchio's new restaurant in the evacuated husk of his Craftsteak restaurant (They Shoot Two-Star Restaurants, Don't They?), serving "composed dishes" and including a curious Halfsteak bar room with some charchuterie meats, pizza, and a raw bar. Colicchio & Sons is the namesake chef's return to the kitchen, cooking up two menus with a round dozen appetizers and a few more entrees, ranging...
Set in the space that was Craftsteak, Tom Colicchio's eponymous eatery has one sure thing going for it: the Top Chef host claims he'll be in the kitchen actually cooking your meal---that is, when he's not taping Top Chef or any other TV…
Tom Colicchio's eponymous eatery, set in the former Craftsteak space near Chelsea Market, is a versatile venue that can deliver a multi-course menu or a more casual (but still elevated) repast of pizza and beer. (For the latter, head to the Tap Room, the more democratic arm of the restaurant.) The main dining room features high ceilings and sprays of flowering greenery that allude to the...
We were there with a party of 7 for Mothers Day dinner. The room is large and beautiful, with windows looking out on a little park. The tables are very well spaced. The wines by the glass were well chosen. Every dish brought to the table was more delicious than the last. The pasta appetizers were just wonderful. Someone in that kitchen really knows what he/she is doing. I would go back in a...
Rather disappointed with food, the main reason I picked the restaurant, primarily based on Colicchio's fame - fame's a lousy predictor of quality! Dining room is airy, elegant, noise level subdued, possibly because the room was half empty. Staff professional, attentive without being intrusive. As I said, the food was a letdown: beef tartare was tough and the diced pieces of meat were too big, a...
My husband and I had a wonderful meal at Colicchio & Sons. We were in NYC for our anniversary and the whole team at the restaurant made us feel very spoiled. Some stand-out dishes were the farm fresh egg (it became a wonderful sauce for the asparagus & fava beans), the bouillabaisse (delish!) and the waygu beef. I would definitely recommend Colicchio & Sons for a lovely romantic dinner.
The main courses were not good....i would not go there ever
It is not disappoint! Great service, beautiful inside and food was outstanding. Nothing was an issue with the team and they worked hard and seamlessly to make our night terrific
Craft Restaurants was founded by chef Tom Colicchio with the opening of Craft restaurant in New York in 2001. Since then the company has grown to include Craftbar and Colicchio & Sons, both in New York, Craftsteak at the MGM Grands in both Las Vegas and at Foxwoods, and Crafts in Los Angeles and Dallas. Craft Restaurants also consults on restaurants for both the Kiawah Island Club in South ......
Award-winning Chef Tom Colicchio, much vaunted in New York culinary circles and beyond, returns to his roots with this trendy, folksy restaurant. The restaurant is a slightly odd combination of the very modern (a glass and steel wine tower) and the charmingly old-fashioned (a wood-burning stove). The cuisine follows a similar path - the roasted chicken with autumn vegetable ragout has a...

Tap your feet to the tunes--Colicchio personally selects every song on the iPod playlist.
According to a friendly barkeep, the "Top Chef" himself is here six days a week, so you might spy him making the rounds.
The restaurant's name isn't just for show: Colicchio does in fact have two sons.
