Be careful

I chose this company because they claimed they are agent for Allied Van Lines. Turns out the Nashville office is a joke!

On the moving day, they rolled up 3 hours late and drove a U-Haul truck to pick up. I knew nothing about renting a truck and nobody told me I need to pay for it until I found they overcharged me more than $400 compared to the guaranteed price pledge. After moving, the agent refused to send me the recipient with itemized list of charges. So I had to contact BBB for assistance. Unfortunately, BBB notified me that they have not heard from the moving company and have exhausted their resources trying to pursue my complaint.

In addition to the transportation fee, the packing fee, and the insurance, have you ever heard that a professional moving company need to rent a U-Haul to move and ask a customer to pay for it? I learned a lot from my moving. I hope nobody else will pay as much as I paid.

WORST Moving Company

I have moved over 20 times in my life. I have never had such a bad experience as I had with this company. DO NOT HIRE THEM for your move! They bait and switch, they lie, they do not do what they say they are going to do. They overcharge by delaying the move.

The company did not send two trucks as we had agreed. When I contacted them, the manager stopped the move for up to 2 hours. He demanded that I pre-pay $1,300.00 for the move, before the work was done, and threatened many times to take the truckload of my belongings if I didn't pre-pay; it was extremely stressful! The agent falsely makes it sound like he is helping you to save money, but on the day of the move, when all of your worldly possessions are packed up, they switch everything around to drag it out and to force you into accepting other terms than were originally agreed.

The move was dragged out for at least 2 extra hours ($300 more); the agreement to not be charged for travel time was not honored; the piano was incorrectly put together and is inoperable; they said we'd agree upon the proper charges for the move, which they did not honor; they were unable to be reached about all of these agreements that they did not keep.
DO NOT HIRE COVAN. You will be sorry if you do. Moving is expensive to begin with. There are much better moving companies out there, who keep their word, send the agreed-upon equipment, and do not threaten to take all of your belongings if you don't pre-pay for it. This company is full of shysters.

This is a reply to the above review by "R". We believe this review is written by one of our many competitors in the Nashville area. We consider the "bashing" of our competitors to be morally wrong, and of very poor business practice and ethics. We NEVER require prepayment of a move! A local move is charged by the hour and the totals are figured at the END of the move process. There are federal...
