When we go to the Outer Banks we always stop at the gas station next to Cindy's Kitchen for her desserts! From the 12 Layer Cake, to the Carrot Cake and Lemon Bars, make this your stop for wonderful sweets! Since my Aunt Hazel passed away I've craved her 12 Layer Cake and it's just like hers.

This is the most amazing cake ever! We always stop off at the Citgo station to pick one of these up on our way to the Outer Banks. Cindy's Kitchen is one of the traditional stopovers that we make either entering or leaving the Outer Banks. I cannot pass up the opportunity to pick up a slice of her famous 12 Layer Cake. It has a perfect crumb and the chocolate icing on each layer is just enough that it doesn't become cloyingly sweet. The bakery has a wide selection of freshly made goods that its sure to please any sweet tooth.
