I love Bar-B-Q and while the Checkered Pig is the best BBQ choice in town and i eat there fairly often, it is simply good, not great. Hush puppies, slaw, onion rings are good, beans, not so much.I wish I could say they serve unbelievable BBQ, but they just don't get there.

Quick and Tasty Meal

Traveling through the area, we were looking for something different, but quick meal. This was the perfect place. You order at the counter and are served at your table. The beef brisket was very tender and the hush puppies hit the spot. I tried the bbq bowl. It was unique and delicious. Definitely a place to check out!

I have no complaints at all about the food. It's good. But when I've had homemade bbq from the mom and pop joints they are always jaw dropping delish!!! Maybe because it was take out it was a bit different. Everyone in town just loves it.. I guess it just wasn't for my taste to give me that OMG feeling......

I have eaten here numerous times and the food has always been excellent. I like the thin sauce they make best, but my sister prefers the thicker one. My favorite is the chopped bbq, but the ribs are a very close second. This is great food at a very good price. Enjoy.
