In 1981, Martha Nicholson purchased an old barber shop at her own expense and opened The Cat Corner in Hampton, Virginia.

The Cat Corner is a no-kill, non-profit cat shelter for homeless cats, that has been operated by volunteers for over 30 years and is solely funded by donations.

We went to cat corner within the hours it was open we where looking to adopt we rang the door bell knocked and nothing finally we opens the door and said hello and nothing still.... Weird so we...

Even when I lived in Hamton I loved The Cat Corner, they took care of kitties, no kill, hopes to find them forever homes! When my brother passed away and my uncle, we asked for people to donate to The Cat Corner. We love kitties and anyone who helps take care of them! Thank you Cat Corner for being there!
